Overview
Executives and Stakeholders use the Business Transformation (BT) solution in Shibumi to maintain continuous visibility into transformation performance and ensure alignment to Strategic Objectives. Their engagement is centered on outcomes—understanding whether the organization is delivering against its goals, where value is being realized, and where intervention may be required. Through concise, visual reporting and aggregated insights, they are able to guide strategic discussions and make informed, timely decisions without needing to engage in day-to-day execution.
How Executives Engage with the Solution

Program
At the Program level, Executives operate within a centralized, aggregated view of the entire transformation portfolio. This is their primary point of engagement, where Strategic Objectives, Workstreams, and overall performance are brought together into a single, cohesive perspective. Through high-level dashboards, Executives monitor progress against strategic goals using the Strategy tab, quickly assessing whether objectives are On Track, At Risk, or Off Track.

They rely on the Program tab to evaluate overall performance, reviewing aggregated financial metrics such as Plan, Forecast, and Actual EBITDA, as well as progress toward program targets.

The Pipeline tab supports forward-looking decision-making, enabling Executives to assess early-stage initiatives, compare value versus complexity, and prioritize investments that best align with strategic objectives.

Governance and oversight are also anchored at this level. Through the Approvals tab, Executives gain visibility into decision pipelines and can identify bottlenecks that may slow progress.

Financial performance is closely monitored using the Impacts and Budget tabs, where they evaluate both value realization and spend against plan to ensure a strong return on transformation investments.

To maintain awareness of execution without getting into operational detail, Executives reference the Roadmap tab for a timeline view of key milestones and dependencies, and the RAID tab to stay informed of critical risks, issues, and decisions that may require escalation or intervention.

When needed, the Capacity tab provides additional insight into resource allocation, ensuring that priority initiatives are properly supported.

Workstream
While Executives are not directly responsible for managing Workstreams, they use this level to understand how different areas of the business are contributing to overall program success. Workstreams provide a functional or domain-based breakdown—such as Finance, HR, or IT—allowing Executives to compare performance across the organization.
By reviewing aggregated Workstream data, Executives can identify which areas are driving the most value, which may be underperforming, and where additional focus or support may be needed. This perspective helps inform strategic discussions around prioritization, resource allocation, and organizational alignment.
Initiative
At the Initiative level, Executives engage selectively, typically when deeper insight is required into specific investments or areas of concern. Initiatives represent the primary drivers of value within the program, and this level provides visibility into business cases, expected outcomes, and financial performance.
Executives may review Initiative-level data to validate alignment to Strategic Objectives, assess return on investment, or understand the status of high-priority efforts. This level of visibility supports more targeted decision-making, particularly when evaluating whether to advance, adjust, or deprioritize specific initiatives.
Activity
Executives generally do not engage directly at the Activity level, as this is where detailed execution is managed. However, the existence of Activities within the BT structure provides confidence that all initiatives are supported by clearly defined tasks, timelines, and dependencies.
This structured breakdown ensures that progress reported at higher levels is grounded in real execution, giving Executives trust in the accuracy and reliability of the data they use to make decisions.
Value to the Executive
The BT solution provides Executives with a streamlined, top-down view of transformation, connecting strategy directly to execution. By consolidating all program data into a single platform, it eliminates fragmented reporting and creates a true single source of truth.
Through intuitive dashboards and visualizations, Executives can quickly interpret complex data, enabling faster and more confident decision-making. The clear linkage between Strategic Objectives, Workstreams, and Initiatives ensures that all efforts remain aligned to organizational goals, while built-in financial and pipeline insights support smarter investment decisions.
Ultimately, the solution empowers Executives to lead transformation proactively—reinforcing accountability, managing risk, and ensuring that the organization delivers measurable, sustained value from its transformation efforts.
In Practice
An Executive begins their weekly transformation review in the Program view, quickly scanning the Strategy and Program tabs to assess overall performance against Strategic Objectives and financial targets. Noticing a gap to target in the Pipeline, they use the prioritization view to guide a discussion on which initiatives should be accelerated or re-evaluated.
During the same review, they identify a Workstream trending behind plan and drill down to understand the contributing Initiatives. After confirming the root cause through summarized insights and RAID visibility, they align stakeholders on next steps—reallocating resources and reinforcing priorities to keep the program on track and maximize overall value delivery.
